Block-by-block research in San Francisco District 11
The District 11 Youth Research Team conducts youth-led, block-level research on small-business conditions and street environments in San Francisco District 11. The project combines field observations with short merchant interviews to identify recurring local challenges and better understand how conditions differ across commercial corridors.

How the study is organized
District 11 is studied corridor by corridor. Each corridor is divided into large study zones, and each zone into block faces on either side of the street.

Mission Street has three study zones: M1 (Daly City line → Geneva Ave), M2 (Geneva Ave → Ocean Ave) and M3 (Ocean Ave → Highway 280).

Inside each zone, the east side (E) and west side (W) of Mission Street are divided into block-face study areas.
